After last year we made the decision that we were going to stay at the con hotel and that we were going to do it right! Stay the whole weekend, don't allow people to stay with us in our room, and hit up all of the panels.
I'm sad to say that only one of those we followed. We had assured our friend we'd help him get a hotel room and when that failed for us financially he stayed with us. Another friend was having some issues and stayed with us as well. I'm not complaining as we ended up having a blast, but we definitely missed out on all of the gay husband alone time we were hoping to get. We only did one and a half panels. I was excited to see the babyfur panel as I think they're cool, but our two friends that were with us got uncomfortable and wanted to leave.
So yeah, next year we're going to stay in our own room. We're also going to do panels without anyone. I love the different facets of the fur community and would love to experience more like the pup panels, the writing/drawing panels, vrchat panels, tiktok panels, etc.
There's the complaints out of the way. The con experience was a blast. We hit up the rave every night and danced it up. We even made a new friend, Wisp, or Goul as he was on the dancefloor. He was crazy and kept floating over to us and dancing it up with us.
We went to Dave & Busters one of the nights. That was a bit of a disappointment. They advertised having a special jello shot for Megaplex and when we got there the waiter had no clue what I was talking about and told us they only had green. Not a flavor. Just green.
I got to try on a fursuit head for the first time. Any doubt that I had of wanting one for myself went out the window. It was so amazing wearing it and even David wanted me to buy it. Unfortunately the head, as amazing as it was and as much as I didn't want to part ways with it, was not Ebb. I need Ebb's head on me.
I love this furry community. They're crazy, they're cringy, but they're mine.
