Thanksgiving 2023

 

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving. David had to work, but he came by Mom's house after work to celebrate with us.

It sucked. Out of the four holidays during the season (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years) he gets to pick his preference for what he'd like off. So it's normally Christmas Eve, then Thanksgiving, then the others in no particular order. This year he didn't get it off and to be honest I was thinking about just staying home and not celebrating it.

I decided not to be a humbug and went to Mom's house. We had our normal holiday brekky of eggarooda and eggs and bacon. I brought some games that we tried to play but the games I bought were clearly meant for a larger party so they were a bit of a wash. 

I took a nap on the floor with Jack. I'm not sure why I was so tired but I do remember laying down and just feeling "yeah, here I go". 

It's always so lovely spending time with the family. I hate that David wasn't here until dinner time but I'm still happy that I didn't just sit it out and stay home.
